Wanaka & Queenstown Tango
Argentine Tango is a 100 year old social art form that is centred on an EMBRACE between two people.
After months of social distancing, it’s time to renew and celebrate connection. The dance brings people together in a gracefully dynamic way to express musicality. Every step is improvised and dancers move as the music moves them. The leader invites a movement, the follower interprets the invitation, the leader responds, and so it goes for three and a half minutes until the song concludes.
Dancers switch partners and everyone dances with everyone. Social barriers are broken down, connections are formed, creativity is shared, spirits are RENEWED – all from a musical EMBRACE.
